This beautifully boxed gift set includes two medium-sized TOHAKU candles, each with an approximate burn time of 130 minutes, and one KOMA Medium candle stand. Handcrafted using 100% natural sumac wax extracted from the fruit of Japanese Ha-ze trees in the Chikugo region of Kyushu, these traditional-style wa-rousoku candles are made by Takazawa Candle, a heritage maker based in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, since 1892.
The distinctive form of the TOHAKU candle is inspired by the quiet elegance of a pine forest, as depicted in the works of celebrated painter Tohaku Hasegawa. Over time, the surface of the candle naturally whitens, enhancing its understated beauty.
The set comes beautifully presented in a finely crafted paulownia wood box—perfect and ready for gifting.
