Beautifully crafted pocket notebook/journal covered with exquisite Japanese Chiyogami (traditional Japanese washi paper with patterns)that was originally produced in the Meiji Period (1868-1912) by a long-established Japanese washi dealer HAIBARA with history over 200 years ago since the Edo period in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
This motif depicts a sparrow puffing up its feathers to trap air and stay warm during the winter. The name Fukura Suzume combines the words for “plump” and “sparrow,” written with auspicious characters that also mean “good fortune.” Cherished since ancient times, the motif symbolizes prosperity, happiness, and the flourishing of future generations.
The cover is Chiyogami-covered hard cover and inside are smooth fine paper (machine-made paper) with ruled lines. 160 pages.
