Plump Sparrow Mini Dish
Ramassage actuellement indisponible
This charming mini dish features a relief design of a plump sparrow - Fukura Suzume in Japanese - a traditional symbol of good fortune and prosperity. The name refers to a sparrow fluffed up in winter to keep warm, its round form representing wealth and happiness.
The design is a faithful reproduction of small plates once made in the Seto and Mino regions of Aichi Prefecture during the early Meiji period. The feather details are expressed in relief using traditional earthen molds, resulting in these petite, delicately crafted dishes full of character and charm.
Available in two glazes: Yellow Seto (Kiseto), a traditional glaze with a gentle golden hue that appears as a soft, subtle beige; and Ash Amber, a warm, caramel-brown glaze with natural depth and character.
Measurements: Approx. 9.3 × 9.3 × H2.2cm
Material: Porcelain
Made in Gifu prefecture, Japan
