Medium sized round baskets handcrafted by artisans using matatabi in Oku-Aizu region known for the matatabi weaving basketry from ancient times. Matatabi is a silver vine that grows in the Aizu region of northwestern Japan.

These beautifully woven baskets are lightweight and are great for uses in the kitchen, as strainers or to keep vegetables and fruits. There are slight differences in each basket. This listing is for medium sized baskets, small baskets are also available.

These are specially crafted for Tonerico museum, new and never been used, in great condition. Sold individually.
