Aizome Hand-Dyed Tenugui {River}
Pickup currently unavailable
Hand-dyed using natural indigo (aizome) by textile artist and dyer Yuko Takizawa in Mashiko, this tenugui features fine, flowing lines inspired by the movement of a river.
Made from 100% cotton in a traditional tenugui weave, it has a dense, smooth texture and a more substantial feel while remaining soft and comfortable to use.
Each piece is individually dyed, resulting in subtle variations that make it one of a kind.
A versatile traditional Japanese cloth, tenugui can be used as a hand towel, wrapping cloth, table mat, kitchen cloth, head covering, and more. The edges are intentionally left unsewn, giving the cloth its characteristic simple finish. Some fraying may occur at first, but this naturally settles after several washes. It can also be displayed as wall art, framed or hung with our Hinoki Wood Tenugui Hanger, available separately.
