Yuko Takizawa

After studying textile design, Yuko Takizawa moved to Mashiko to learn traditional aizome (indigo dyeing) and katazome (stencil dyeing) at the Higeta Indigo Dye Studio. She apprenticed for nine years under the late master Hiroshi Higeta, immersing herself in the foundations of natural dyeing and the quiet discipline of the craft.

Yuko later established her own studio, where she continues to create works dyed with natural and organic botanical colors. Her pieces are humble yet full of character and charm - reflecting the gentle, thoughtful presence of Yuko-san herself.
