Aizome Cushion Cover [E]

Unique and beautiful cushion covers carefully hand-dyed with Aizome (or Japan Blue)  traditional Japanese Indigo dyeing method by a local Mashiko artist/crafter Waratani. 

Each piece is hand-dyed at Waratani studio in Mashiko on soft natural Thai cotton cushion cover with zip, dyed using traditional techniques and 100% plant based natural materials. 

Pattern is different on each side.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Waratani is an Aizome dye studio and brand run by Makoto Waragai. Originally from Fukushima prefecture, Makoto worked at a Indigo Dyeing Company in Tokyo for 4 years before moving to a craft town Mashiko in 2019 and then started his own aizome dyeing studio.

Waratani produces beautiful aizome products using traditional techniques and 100% authentic and natural plant based ingredients (the "ai" indigo plants he uses are grown in Tokushima prefecture where is known for the best indigo growing center) and no chemical is used in his work.
