Daiyo Mini Rice Bran Wax Candles {Red & White}

These candles are made from wax extracted from rice bran (komenuka), a natural byproduct of rice milling. Crafted with 100% natural, sustainable materials, each one is handmade in Shiga Prefecture by Daiyo, a family-run company with over 100 years of history.

The charming cat-and-mouse illustration on the box comes from an old tradition: because natural candle wax attracts mice, Japanese candle makers have long kept cats in their workshops.

Each tiny candle burns for 15 minutes, so they are great for a quick meditation or for a mini break between stressful desk work, etc.

Please use these candles with a Japanese candle stand that has a spike sized for this type of candle. Some candles may not sit perfectly at first—please avoid pushing them down firmly, as they can break. Gently place the candle on the spike; as long as it stands upright, it’s set correctly.
