MOVING OF OUR OFFICE AND WAREHOUSE
Since UGUISU celebrated the 10th anniversary this summer, we are making some changes. We are relocating our office from the central Tokyo to a small country town called Mashiko in Tochigi prefecture about 100km north of Tokyo.
Mashiko is one of the major pottery towns in Japan, biggest in Kanto region and the closest from Tokyo. Mashiko is known as a home of mingei master/great potter and living national treasure Shoji Hamada and many young and well established artists live and work making the town unique and creative.
So this is where Uguisu will be dispatching from, the craft town Mashiko to the world from beginning of 2020, and we are hoping to grow our collection and offer more of the unique and special thoughtful items from our native Japan to the world in better depth and with even more passion working more closely with our artists and makers.
Upon making this change of our base we are closing our physical store that we have had in the one-of-a-kind beautiful pre-war building in the central Tokyo for the past 7 years. It has been wonderful to meet so many of our online customers visiting our store when they travel to Tokyo, so we sure will miss that but we hope to find other ways to connect with our fans and customers.
From early January this will be our new address where all of your orders will be shipped from. All the mail sent to our current address will be directed to our new address.
