Meiji Era Floral Post Cards (C,D)

Two new additions to a series of Japanese historic design post cards with beautiful flora and fauna, are C) Choyo Chrysanthemum by Kyosai Kawanabe and D) Sasagiri and Jutaicho birds by Ayaoka Yushin - artists who produced numbers of Ukiyo-e artworks between late Edo and Meiji era.  Washi dealer and stationery company with over 200 years of history HAIBARA had commissioned numbers of artists who represent each era since they were established in 1806 in the Edo period. HAIBARA has a great collection of these precious original artworks which they call "Syugyoku Bunko" and it has been well kept in their library. These historic designs postcards are produced from their collection. Each postcard is sold individually.
