IFUJI Oval Box -Cherry- (#0,1,2,3)
Pickup currently unavailable
These exquisite boxes are handcrafted by IFUJI, a renowned woodcraft studio in Nagano, Japan, run by artisan Masashi Ifuji. Each piece is meticulously made using original templates and traditional techniques passed down from the Shakers of 19th-century colonial America.
Crafted in the time-honored way, the wood is boiled, shaped, and dried in molds over two days, ensuring lasting durability and unique character. Originally used by the Shakers to store sewing tools, quilting supplies, and dry goods, these versatile boxes now serve a wide range of purposes in modern homes.
The exterior is finished with a natural flaxseed oil-based coating and beeswax, offering subtle luster and added protection, while the interior is left uncoated to highlight the raw, organic beauty of the wood.
This listing features the smaller sizes — No.0, 1, 2, and 3 — each sold individually so you can choose the perfect size or combine several for a striking display.
IFUJI’s oval boxes have been a beloved part of the UGUISU collection since they were first introduced in 2016.
