Shimekazari is a Japanese traditional wreath made from shimenawa (a sacred rice straw rope) which is hang on the front door of the house for the New Year.
Handcrafted by an artisan in Akita Prefecture, northern Japan, this dragon decoration is made from natural rice straw. Representing the zodiac sign for the year 2024, it’s a perfect choice for New Year’s celebrations and can be enjoyed throughout the year as a symbol of good fortune and protection.
This decoration can be hung on the wall inside house to enjoy all year round.
