Chataku Tea Saucer
Pickup currently unavailable
Chataku is a saucer that goes with a teacup and in Japan it is used for serving tea to the guests to show respect.
The deep round form of these chataku saucers is taken from the traditional piece that had been used since the Qing dynasty. It was carefully shaped in the workshop in Tsubame-shi in Nigata prefecture where is known as the center for the quality metalwork production. A little larger compared with regular chataku saucers, these chataku sit stably when placed on the table supporting the teacup nicely.
These chataku saucers are tin plated on copper. The tin holds soft light and you can enjoy the patina as you use it. They can be used for everyday teatime or for the guests.
Chataku saucer pairs perfectly with Kumidashi teacup (sold separately).
