Yamanobe Aya
Aya YAMANOBE is a young Japanese potter from Iwaki-shi, Fukushima now based in Mashiko one of the biggest pottery centers in the Kanto region 100km north of Tokyo. Aya started playing around with clay making ceramic pieces while studying design at Musashino Art University in Tokyo and later established her unique style of pottery and gained huge popularity. Each piece she creates is hand painted in her studio in Mashiko. She creates an imaginary world of whimsy, full of folk like characters, flora and fauna. It is a huge honour of UGUiSU's to be introducing Aya's beautiful work to people outside of Japan.
