Kaya Weave Cotton Dishcloth {Baguette}
Pickup currently unavailable
Kaya weave cotton gauze dishcloth in a delightful design "Baguette" - A pattern so warm and charming, you can almost smell the freshly baked bread.
This beautifully made dishcloth features kaya-ori — a traditional open-weave fabric from Nara, originally used for mosquito nets since before the Nara period (710–794). Made from five layers of cotton kaya fabric, they become softer with use, are highly absorbent, and durable for long-term use. They are ideal for drying dishes, wiping hands or surfaces, and make perfect small gifts or thoughtful tokens.
This piece is part of a special collaboration between Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, a long-established kaya fabric maker from Nara, and IIDA Kasaten, a unique umbrella maker known for designing and weaving its own textiles in-house.
