Mamezara (literally translates to 'bean dish' - tiny things are called 'mame' = bean) are popular items on the everyday dining table in Japan. They are great for serving tiny portion of food, nibble, condiments or soy source, but they are also good to use as cutlery rests, jewelry dish, etc.
These tiny dishes are made with porcelain and finished with natural dobai (clay ash) glaze. There are slight differences in the tone for each dish and there are subtle rough texture on the surface.
