Tsunehisa Gunji Bowl
Wood fired ceramic bowls by a local Mashiko potter Tsunehisa Gunji. They are perfect as rice bowls, serving soup, fruit, cereal, etc. Size, tone and texture vary slightly from piece to piece but [A] is a little greener than the other three.
Tsunehisa Gunji is one of the most renowned artists and ceramicists in our local Mashiko - a small craft and pottery town 100km north of Tokyo - who works individually as well as together with his wife Keiko producing ceramic works for everyday and simple pleasure in their beautiful studio filled with aesthetic and surrounded with nature.
We visit Gunji's studio and pick up all the pieces ourselves (sometimes they would drop them in) in person. We are thrilled to be introducing Keiko and Tsunehisa's work to the world through UGUISU.
