Kotota is a sparrow from a Japanese ancient picture scroll fairy tale Kotota Story. It's a story of a sparrow named Kotota and his wife who lost their child and turn religious and become Buddhist monks. In this picture scroll that was drawn in the Muromachi Era (16th century), many beautiful birds from the story are included, and Atsuko Yukawa a creator of Tobidustry cards has made illustrations from this story and they were put together as tiny note cards.
