BUAISOU Indigo Dyed Airvase

The latest Airvase Artist Series is an amazing collaboration with BUAISOU. BUAISOU are a group of new-generation indigo farmers and dyers who have undertaken the complete process of traditional indigo dying from cultivation through to marketing. Their work has been highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally, leading to collaborations with numerous brands from all over the world.

Special paper has been chosen for this series of airvase that complements the properties of indigo dye or aizome. There are three different designs all dyed with natural indigo using traditional techniques: BETAZOME (solid dye) and DANZOME (gradient dye) are carefully dyed by hand, and for ITAJIME each airvase is clamped between two wood blocks leaving a stripe pattern on the paper. 

What is Airvase?
Designed by TORAFU ARCHITECTS of Tokyo, Airvase is a paper container that can be stretched into a vase, plate or bowl that enfolds air. It comes as a flat sheet of paper with perforations so that you can pull up each side into the preferred shape.
The paper is thin and light, but when expanded it is rigid and strong enough to stand alone. 

Each pack includes only one sheet for this indigo dye series.

Because the products are handmade, each item’s colors and patterns are unique. The dye may react to ultraviolet rays such as sunlight and discoloration may occur. Please keep away from excessive ultraviolet rays or sunlight.

Returns Policy

We will only provide a refund in the event of damaged or defective items that we cannot replace. If you wish to return or exchange an item you must first contact us within 7 days of arrival by email at hello [at] uguisustore.com

Pre-ordered or Backordered items, sale or discounted items can not be returned.

We will not be able to accept return or exchange of items if contacted after 7 days of arrival, so please make sure to open the package and check the contents as soon as the package arrives.

All customers are responsible for shipping costs as well as duties on all returned items. We can not refund shipping if the package has already been shipped.

When the package for your order gets returned to us after no re-delivery is arranged when you needed to, we can resend you the package but you will need to pay for the postage again. If you choose to cancel the items, we can refund the amount for the purchased items but not the postage as it has already been shipped and is totally non-refundable.
