Handwoven brooches created by a young Japanese crafter/artist Moe Watanabe with the traditional inspired musubi tying technique using the materials she collected from the mountain herself. The material used for these beauties are dried vines of Akebi or Akebia which is a plant that grows wild in many Japanese mountains and it has been a popular material to make handwoven baskets in northern Japan although there are fewer artisans left today.

There are two designs, choose from pull down list.

Moe while living in the country where she went to university she was introduced to many older people who were making everyday handcrafts using natural materials sourced locally and using traditional techniques and that inspired her to start going into the mountains to find materials to make crafts, mostly akebia vines and walnut tree barks.

Due to the nature of the natural materials and being handmade please expect slight variation in each product.
