NEW BATCH MADE WITH THE NEW RICE STRAW FROM AUTUMN 2020 ARRIVED!

Beautiful handcrafted rice straw decorations inspired by Japanese traditional crafts by a young Japanese crafter/artist Moe Watanabe. Both crane (tsuru) and kame (turtle) are symbols of longevity, because in the Japanese tradition the crane is said to live 1000 years, while the turtle is considered to have a lifespan of ten thousand years so they are good luck charms in Japan. 

These decorations can be hung on the door or a wall as each piece has a loop easy for hanging, or place them anywhere as decorations at a special spot in your home. 

Moe while living in the country where she went to university she was introduced to many older people who were making everyday handcrafts using natural materials sourced locally and using traditional techniques and that inspired her to start going into the mountains to find materials to make crafts, mostly akebia vines and walnut tree barks. 

Due to the nature of natural material used and being handmade, please expect slight variation in size and tone.

These are very delicate items so they need to be handled with care. Some rice may fall apart as you move them.

Returns Policy

We will only provide a refund in the event of damaged or defective items that we cannot replace. If you wish to return or exchange an item you must first contact us within 7 days of arrival by email at hello [at] uguisustore.com

Pre-ordered or Backordered items, sale or discounted items can not be returned.

We will not be able to accept return or exchange of items if contacted after 7 days of arrival, so please make sure to open the package and check the contents as soon as the package arrives.

All customers are responsible for shipping costs as well as duties on all returned items. We can not refund shipping if the package has already been shipped.

When the package for your order gets returned to us after no re-delivery is arranged when you needed to, we can resend you the package but you will need to pay for the postage again. If you choose to cancel the items, we can refund the amount for the purchased items but not the postage as it has already been shipped and is totally non-refundable.
