Ha-ne means wing in Japanese and these are wing-like light weight earrings handcrafted using locally grown natural fiber in the Tohoku region, Japan. All items are handcrafted by Yuikoubou who creates textile using natural fibers from scratch and they do most procedures for making a fabric themselves from collecting material plants, spinning yarn, extracting and applying natural dyes, handweaving, etc. All natural materials used for these earrings are grown in Miyagi and Yamagata prefecture where the products are also made.

These Ha-ne (wing) earrings are gradient-dyed with natural indigo on 100% hand spun aoso ramie natural fiber.  The Ha-ne earrings are now also available in indigo dye, natural, and red in silk.

Earring post used for these earrings are made of the ceramics, allergy-free material that is used for medical purposes.

*Aoso or blue ramie is a fabric similar to linen, also called Karamushi in Japanese and it's made from a plant in the nettle family which is now becoming a rare textile material today. The white fibers of the stem are strong and beautiful and they have been long used as a material for high quality textiles since the ancient times in Japan and Yamagata prefecture is one of the main areas that this plant grows widely.

Due to the nature of handmade products, please expect slight variations to the product images displayed.
